An oasis of calm in the city, the Cruickshank Botanic Gardens offer an escape from city life to a private world of nature and nurture. A poem of pollen fills the air, as mature trees, herbaceous borders, a chorus of flowers and an orchestra of shrubs quietly demand attention. It is a place to unwind, to connect to nature, to whittle away worries and to plug in to peace.

Dating from 1898, the gardens are within the University of Aberdeen’s Kings College campus, accessed from the Chanonry.
