Johnston Gardens

A natural nirvana in the heart of Aberdeen’s west end, Johnston Gardens is the perfect place to walk or relax.

A tiny red bridge seen between two tree trunks

A poem of peace breathes down winding paths, rockeries recite gentle lyrics while streams and waterfalls sing a lullaby.

Seagulls and ducks in a pond surrounded by trees and bushes

Radiant rhododendron joy lights your way. It is unsurprising that the park won the Britain in Bloom Public Park Award in 2002.

Gifted to the city in 1936, the park is an oasis of colourful calm. Mature trees surround the garden like guardians, branches whispering platitudes above your head.

The park is home to mallard ducks and moorhens, but it would not be Aberdeen without the occasional seagull too.

A beautiful bridge creates the perfect photo opportunity.
